About Steve:

Steve received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and his Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, both from the University of Arizona. He is also a graduate of Sabino High School, and has lived in Tucson for over 30 years. He is an Arizona Licensed Professional Counselor, and has provided individual counseling, parent coaching, school-based counseling, and seminars for teachers and parents for over 20 years.

In addition to being a child and family therapist and consultant, Steve is a parent. He understands the joys and difficulties of parenting, and uses the techniques from Parenting with Love and Logic® as the foundation for raising his own teenage son.

Steve is thoroughly trained and experienced in the Love and Logic approach.  He enjoys helping parents improve their relationships with their children by avoiding the "parent traps" of anger, lectures, arguing, threats, repeated warnings, reminders and criticism.  Additionally, Steve helps parents learn to set limits without power struggles, to share control through the use of choices, and to guide children through problem solving.

Teachers, administrators, school counselors, and support staff all play an important role in the lives of our children. Through his work as a school-based therapist and school consultant, Steve has provided counseling and support to students and their families, as well as staff development trainings to school staff. He has a great deal of experience helping educators use the Love and Logic techniques to create schools with fewer discipline problems and improved staff morale.
